It has nothing to do with anything in this strip, but the poster (for the current “Modern Classics Film Series” movie) is for Animal Kingdom, a 2010 Australian crime film by David Michôd that earned a Best Actress nomination for Jacki Weaver’s utterly chilling performance. This is one of Jason’s choices, though I’m sure Kurt would think it’s great, too. (Or maybe it’s a little slow for his taste.)
Anyway, Jason would have picked it, because Michôd’s new film, The Rover, is out next month, and it looks spectacular — a point he’d no doubt make when introducing the movie. Check out the trailer if you haven’t. It’s one of my top five most anticipated movies of the summer.
